Indian passport holders do not need a visa for Thailand for a short tourist stay of up to 30 days. e-Visa is also available.
Good news for Indian travellers: you do not need a visa to visit Thailand for a holiday of up to 30 days. Since 15 September 2026, the visa-free stay for Indian passport holders is 30 days, reduced from the earlier 60 days. There is no visa fee for this stay. If you entered before that date, you keep the days stamped at entry. Note that this rule is for tourism only, and your 30 days are counted from the day you arrive.
Before you fly, fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th within 3 days of arrival, and save the QR code. Carry a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return ticket, hotel booking and proof of funds. If you want to stay longer than 30 days, you can ask for an extension at a Thai immigration office or apply for a tourist e-Visa at thaievisa.go.th before travel. Use only these official websites, because other sites may charge extra fees. Thailand has changed its rules often this year, so check the Royal Thai Embassy website before you book.
