Indian passport holders do not need a visa for Malaysia for a short tourist stay of up to 30 days. e-Visa is also available.
Good news for Indian travellers: you donโt need a visa to visit Malaysia right now. Indian passport holders can enter visa-free for up to 30 days per visit for tourism, social visits, business meetings or transit. The waiver is currently valid until 31 December 2026, so you pay no visa fee and donโt need to apply at an embassy. It does not cover work or study, and the 30-day stay cannot be extended inside Malaysia, so plan to leave before your time runs out.
Before you fly, complete the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) on the official Immigration website, ideally within 3 days of arrival, and save the confirmation. At the airport, keep your passport (valid at least 6 months), your MDAC confirmation, a return or onward ticket and your hotel booking ready for immigration. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you will need an e-Visa instead. Since the waiver is confirmed only until 31 December 2026, check the official Malaysian Immigration website before booking any trip for 2027.
